Main Lesson: The Age of Discovery
We have explored with Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo and Zheng He. Last year we went exploring with Captain Cook and Tupaia.
Our latest voyagers will be Ferdinand Magellan, Ibn Battuta, Vasco da Gama and Alexander von Humboldt.
We are interested in when they lived, where they explored, why they went exploring and their successes and failures.
If you have access to the internet then you can start to explore for yourself, and construct a biography of each person.
If you are restricted to the local library, then I would encourage you to get searching there,
If you have no encyclopaedias, no internet, no library access, then email me- and I will send you some materials. If I send you material, you will still need to read it carefully and choose which information is useful for a one page biography.
